The Hong Kong Veterinary Association

Request for Assistance

In October, 2011, in response to the occurrence of animal cruelty cases in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Police Force initiated the formation of the Animal Watch Scheme. The AWS is an association of the following organizations: HK Police Force, SPCA, SAA, CityU Vet School, AFCD, CHKVA and HKVA.

The AWS has produced promotional material listing phone numbers which members of the public can call if they wish to report animal cruelty cases.

Hill's/Lee Lung Company has volunteered to distribute these posters to veterinary clinics and plans to accomplish this task within the coming one to two months.

I am asking if practice managers, upon receiving the posters, would display them in public areas of their clinics.

Thanking you in advance,

Tom Mangan
HKVA President
