Management of congestive heart failure
Early diagnosis of congestive heart failure is vital to initiate immediate treatment and improve the outcome of affected patients. Whereas in the acute phase of congestive heart failure more aggressive treatment is required to stabilize a patient, chronic treatment does not only rely on drugs but just as much on owner compliance and periodic rechecks. In this lecture, we will revisit common drugs and procedures required to treat patients in congestive heart failure on an in- and out-patient basis.

ECG interpretation and treatment of common arrhythmias
This lecture we will focus on principles of ECG interpretation and distinguish acutely life threatening arrhythmias from non-urgent arrhythmias. In order to address arrhythmias, it is necessary to understand the pathophysiologic mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias as well as mechanisms of action of available antiarrhythmic drugs.
