Harvest Veterinary Oncology Centre is pleased to announce the opening of Harvest Specialist Services!

HVOC is a well-established radiation oncology centre in Hong Kong. In line with our devotion to providing cutting-edge therapy to our cancer patients, HVOC will be expanding to offer the full spectrum of specialist veterinary care to the community. The specialist centre will be an advanced, collaborative, multi-specialty centre with a 24/7 acute emergency and urgent care facility. The hospital will be supplied with state-of-the-art equipment and designed as a purposebuilt, functional and comfortable space to provide and receive emergencies and urgent referrals. Our referral and Emergency centre will provide a comprehensive experience for referring veterinarians, clients and their pets.

HVOC is hiring for the following positions:

  • Technical staff for specialist services
  • Hospitalist Veterinarians, day/nigh
  • Emergency Veterinarians, day/night
  • Anesthesia Veterinarians

Emergency Veterinarians


  • Ability to triage and provide exceptional, evidence based, compassionate care to patients in need
  • Perform emergency surgeries as required
  • Interpret diagnostic images, such as X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds, to accurately diagnose patients with life-threatening disease processes
  • Intake after-hours referral cases for specialist services


  • DVM or equivalent degree, Hong Kong licenced
  • 2+ years of emergency practice experience
  • Willingness to learn from a team of dedicated specialists
  • RECOVER ®Certified
  • Commitment to practicing evidence-based medicine
  • Confidence in emergency surgeries (GDV, dystocia etc.)
  • Ability to perform triage and multi-task, managing a high caseload
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations

Specialty Veterinary Nurses


  • Ability to triage and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions
  • Ability to perform: medical math (CRI calculation), IV catheter placement/phlebotomy, emergency procedures, intubation, and digital radiography, monitor anesthesia
  • Knowledge of Fear- Free (FAS), Pain scoring, and neurologic scoring systems (mGSC)
  • RECOVER ® Certification is a plus
  • In depth knowledge of drugs and dosages, indications and contraindication
  • An ability to be confident and compassionate to clients when dealing with their pets in any situation
  • Perform job duties professionally and ethically
  • Flexible with scheduling ability to work nights/weekends/holidays as part of a 365, 24/7 ER department
  • Dependability is a requirement, being a cooperative team player is essential
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communicator, fluent in English
  • Dedicated in provide outstanding customer service even in the most stressful situations
  • Adherence to SOP's designed for safety and reduction of morbidity and mortality


  • Must be fluent in English
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work as a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of veterinary medicine emergency medicine protocols, anesthesia administration, and surgical procedures
  • A desire to grow professionally

Customer Service Representatives (CSR's)


  • Efficiently manage the front desk, answer telephone enquiries, schedule appointments, and handle client communications with poise
  • Maintain composure and professionalism when handling challenging or emotional clients
  • Process payments, handle billing inquiries, and maintain financial records accurately
  • Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure coordinated and efficient workflow
  • Understand triage and possess a willingness to learn the basics of being an emergency CSR


  • Knowledge in animal health care or relevant working experience is an advantage, but not a requirement if you have a passion to learn
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese
  • Responsible, able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Genuine love and respect for animals as well as sympathy for pet owners
  • Ability to multitas
