1. Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

Responsibilities

  • Perform Surgical Procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care and precision.
  • Conduct Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Assessments
  • Collaborate on Treatment Plans, work closely with referring veterinarians and internal staff to develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs of each patient, integrating surgical and non-surgical options.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians, specialists, and pet owners to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with veterinary standards.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Registered with HKVSB Specialist in Small Animal Surgery
  • Strong knowledge of surgical techniques and anaesthesia protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex medical cases.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey medical information to pet owners clearly and compassionately.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


2. Medical Oncologist

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for patients with suspected or confirmed cancer.
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and other veterinary specialists to ensure integrated and comprehensive care.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and palliative care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with veterinary standards.
  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in veterinary oncology and pursue ongoing professional development.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Registered with HKVSB as a Specialist in Oncology (or eligible for registration).
  • Proficiency in oncology-specific diagnostic techniques, including cytology, histopathology review, and diagnostic imaging interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex oncology cases.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear and empathetic discussions with pet owners.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


3. Full-Time Veterinarian (Day & Night Shift)

Responsibilities

  • Support the ECC team in providing 24/7 emergency services, including urgent medical intervention, critical case management, and continuity of care for hospitalized patients
  • Conduct thorough examinations of animals presenting with urgent or critical conditions, diagnose medical conditions, and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, providing critical care to animals in distress.
  • Manage the care of hospitalized animals, ensuring they receive the necessary treatments and monitoring their progress.
  • Work closely with other veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to animal care.

Requirements

  • Registered with HKVSB.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex medical cases.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey medical information to pet owners clearly and compassionately.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Previous experience in an emergency veterinary setting or a strong demonstrated interest in emergency medicine is a plus


4. Anesthesia Intern

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Anaesthesia intern who is committed to practicing the highest standards of veterinary anaesthesia and who would relish the opportunity to further their career in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

The anaesthesia internship at Harvest Veterinary Oncology Centre (HVOC) and Harvest Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Hospital (HVSEH) is a 12-month fixed-term position. You will work under the supervision of our anaesthesia team led by a European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia and supported by an anaesthesia registrar and 5 anaesthesia nurses.

Requirements

  • Registered with the Hong Kong Vet Surgeons Board by the internship start date (ideally by application/interview date)
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a qualified vet in small animal practice OR completion of a rotating internship preferred (exceptional and enthusiastic new graduates will be considered)
  • Intention to pursue further postgraduate qualification in small animal anaesthesia (e.g., MANZCVS)
  • Positive, professional, and proactive attitude at all times
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills, along with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, and maintain effective time management and organizational skills

5. Veterinary Surgical Nurse

  • Prepare and maintain sterile surgical packs, equipment, and operating theatre according to aseptic protocols
  • Assist surgeons during invasive procedures
  • Perform surgical nursing tasks such as wound management, drain placement, bandaging, and post-operative radiography
  • Provide intensive post-operative care, including pain scoring, fluid therapy monitoring, and complication recognition
  • Maintain accurate surgical logs, controlled drug records, and hospitalisation notes
  • Participate in continuing professional development and contribute to refining surgical protocols

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a surgical nurse is required
  • Strong command of written and verbal English; Cantonese proficiency is preferred
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team while remaining calm under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail and infection control
  • A humble, adaptable, and collaborative team player committed to patient welfare


6. Veterinary Nurse (Day & Night Shift)

Responsibilities:

  • Apply and adapt your clinical nursing skills to both medical and surgical focused caseload including, but not limited to, Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Emergency and Critical Care, Oncology, and Surgery
  • Liaise with Veterinary Specialists, Hospitalists, Emergency Veterinarians and other specialty nurses on delivering high-standard patient care
  • To assess and record patient vitals, identify and report abnormalities
  • Work as an integral part of the team in contributing to and partaking in continuing professional development

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is required; prior experience in a specialty or emergency setting is an advantage
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Eager to develop advanced nursing skills

7. Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in operating imaging diagnostics equipment preferred
  • Administer treatments and medications as directed by veterinarians
  • Providing assistance to veterinarians during medical or diagnostic procedures and emergency surgeries.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English
  • Responsible, able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
