These lectures will review treatments in chronic kidney disease and examine new paradigms in the understanding, prevention, and management of chronic kidney disease. We will review the literature and discuss some of the pitfalls associated with implementing treatments. We also look at the future of chronic kidney treatment.
In the second lecture, we will review treatments and outcomes in IMHA/ITP as well as discuss new treatment options. Immune-mediated diseases lead to high rates of morbidity and mortality in our patients. We will examine the literature and standard treatments as well as discuss the goals and benefits of plasmapheresis in these patients.
Speaker's Biography
Dr. Joshua Steinhaus
MS, BVMS, DACVIM, DECVIM-CA

Dr. Joshua Steinhaus is an American and European board-certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist. Following his internship and residency training, he did an intensive 1-year fellowship training program in Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy at the Animal Medical Center in New York. He is the only veterinarian in Asia to complete a fellowship in Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy. During his time at the Animal Medical Center, he was trained by two of the founding veterinarians, Drs. Allyson Berent and Chick Weisse, in Interventional Techniques. In addition to this training, he has also pursued further training in urology through the University of California–Davis and its Hemodialysis Academy. He is also the current IRIS Ambassador to Hong Kong.
