Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a common disease in veterinary medicine. Recent advances in diagnostic tools have made early intervention possible, allowing more effective management, resulting in improved patient’s quality of life. This lecture will focus on the clinical impact of Phos/Ca imbalance, provide insights for early recognition of the condition, and discuss clinical cases utilising FGF-23 testing.
Speaker's Biography
Dr. Yih-Shuang Lin
DVM, MS; IRIS Ambassador to Taiwan
Dr. Yih-shuang Lin is currently the chief veterinarian at Eden Animal Hospital in Taipei city, where she focuses in the field of Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Lin received her veterinary degree from National Taiwan University (NTU), and later pursed her master's degree at NTU with her research in Feline Morbillivirus and kidney diseases. She received advanced trainings during her internships at NTU, and Hemodialysis Academy by UC Davis. Dr. Lin is an IRIS Ambassador to Taiwan, and a speaker for the management for acute and chronic kidney diseases. She is passionate about sharing her cases and learnings of the newly discovered diagnostic tools with her peers.
