Early Bird Registration :This seminar focuses on the fundamental principles of managing open wounds in canines and felines. We will explore a range of techniques that can be applied in practice for definitive skin closure for both traumatic skin wounds and closure following large tumour resections. We will discuss the principles of surgical flaps including subdermal plexus flaps, axial flaps and free skin grafts. There will also be a discussion on potential complications and their management. Case examples will be utilised to illustrate the practical applications of this specialised techniques.
Speaker Biography
Dr. Maheeka Seneviratne
VetMB, MVetMed, DipECVS
Dr. Maheeka Seneviratne is a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. She completed her veterinary degree at the University of Cambridge and completed residency training at the Royal Veterinary College in the UK. She has worked in Sri Lanka, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
She has a special interest in oncological surgery and skin reconstruction as well as thoracic and hepatobiliary procedure.
